CII Launches Vendor Development Scheme for SMEs

According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were being given new opportunities from leading companies such as such as Bajaj Auto, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Nestle and Hero Honda which had setup manufacturing units in Uttarakhand.

CII has realized the highly concentrated potential of MSME sector and it had launched an initiative providing new opportunities like supply of components, provision of transport services such as transport and logistics, and so on. It proposed vendor development scheme and procurement system at an expo conducted at the Haridwar industrial estate. The main theme was to promote healthy business relationships, intra-industry trade, outsourcing of MSME products and components, and the adoption of best practices.
